Step 1
E-Book Submission
Step 1

Submit your e-Book/contentby emailing it as an attachment to the Editorial Office
(info@shineeks.com)
Please note that all submissions should be accompanied by a covering letter that must state the
following:
- The submitted e-Book/content is original and novel.
- The same e-Book/content has not previously been submitted to Shineeks e-Books.
- Include the updated contact information for the corresponding author (postal address,
telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address).
Plagiarism Detection:
Step 2
Step 2

All e-Books submitted to Shineeks e-Books are submitted to a plagiarism check before being sent for peer review.
- Plagiarism, i.e., any unacknowledged copying or attempt(s) to misattribute the original authorship, whether of text, ideas, or results. The United States Office of Research Integrity defines plagiarism as, “theft or misappropriation of intellectual property and the substantial unattributed textual copying of another’s work”.
- Plagiarism can be said to have occurred in the following cases:
- Large chunks of text have been included in the manuscript without appropriate and unambiguous citation.
- “Text recycling” or reuse of sections of text from a previous research publication(self-plagiarism).
- A text similarity <25% is acceptable, but a similarity >35% is considered as high; Shineeks e-Books does not consider for publication such content.
- Duplicate publication refers to a case when an author reuses substantial sections of his/her own published work without providing appropriate references. Duplicate publication can range from publishing identical content, to adding additional data to a previously published book.
- Shineeks e-Books assesses all such instances on a case-by-case basis.
Step 3
Step 3

E-Book Preparation:
In order to reduce delays in publication, authors should ensure that the length and format of the chapters confirm to the guidelines specified by Shineeks e-Books requirements at the time of submission failing which the books/chapters would be rejected without review
(and at each revision stage).
Step 4
Step 4

Page Layout:
In order to reduce delays in publication, authors should ensure that the length and format of the chapters confirm to the guidelines specified by Shineeks e-Books requirements at the time of submission failing which the books/chapters would be rejected without review
(and at each revision stage).
- Margins: Normal,
- Orientation: Portrait,
- Size A4
- Columns one
- Individual words should have a single space in between
- Font Calibri with size 9
7. Paragraph:
1. Alignment: Justified
2. Outline level: Body text
3. Line and paragraph spacing
8. Each new paragraph should be clearly indicated
9. Tables, Figures, and Figure Legends
should be placed at the end of the
manuscript

Step 5
Step 5

E-Book Chapter Preparation:
Divide your chapters into sections and sub-sections. Subsections should not be numbered 1.1 or 1.2, etc. Please do not number the abstract. Individual subsections must be provided a brief heading. Each heading should appear on a separate line.
Main Heading Format: Calibri, size 12, capitalize each word, left alignment.
Chapter Title: The maximum length allowed for chapter titles is 25 words. The title should reflect the content and care should be taken not to include abbreviations in the title.
Title Format: Calibri 20, center alignment, Title Case.
Author Information: Complete names of all authors with and affiliations should be provided. Please indicate individual affiliations using lowercase alphabets in superscript; corresponding author should be identified using an asterisk.
Please note that the contact details of the corresponding author should be kept updated (Postal address, Telephone, Fax, E-mail address). At the time of submitting your manuscript, ensure that the sequence of author names is correct and that the title of your book is final.
Abstract: The abstract should be self-explanatory, and should briefly present a comprehensive overview of the content in each chapter in 300 words or less. Standard nomenclature should be employed, and the use of abbreviations should be avoided.
Keywords: Following the abstract, a list of keywords (3-10) should be provided; these would help with the indexing of the content.
Abbreviations: A list with abbreviated terms and their expanded forms should follow the keywords.
Introduction: The introduction should set the background for the information provided.
References: Per chapter, 25-40 references should be provided for an edited e-Book. A maximum of 300 references are allowed for a short e-Book.
Numbered citations (citation-sequence) should be used. References are listed in the order that they are cited in the text. In-text, citations should be indicated by reference numbers in brackets, and multiple citations within a single bracket should be separated by commas e.g., genes in an experiment [1,2,3]; three or more citations in sequence should be given as a range, e.g., genes in an experiment [1-5].
Please use the following style for the reference list:
Example
Wegner, R. Richard, G. Matthew, S. Sandra, P. Sandy, et al (1990). “Why Interaction Is More
Powerful Than Algorithms,” Communications of the ACM, 80-91.
Note: If there are more than five authors, add “et al.” after the first author name.

Step 6
Step 6

Tables: We strongly encourage authors to submit tables in an editable format; use of MS Word is strongly encouraged. Excel files should not be embedded as images. Tables must be double-spaced throughout, including headings and footnotes. Individual tables should be placed on separate pages and numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals. Tables can be submitted as graphics when they cannot be encoded as XML/SGML.
Figure Legends: Figure legends should be self-explanatory without any reference to the text. If individual panels are present, they should be represented as A, B, C, etc.
Figures: High resolution images should be provided; this would ensure that the final images do not seem fuzzy. Minimum 531 × 1328 pixels (h × w). Preferred file types: TIFF, JPEG, PDF, or .doc.
If figures or Tables have been reproduced from a published source, adequate citations must be provided to avoid any copyright infringement issues.
Graphical Abstract: If you intend to submit a graphical abstract, you should submit it as a separate file during the submission process. Image size: Minimum 531 × 1328 pixels (h × w). Image should be clear at 5 × 13 cm upon using a resolution of 96 dpi. Preferred file types: TIFF, JPEG, PDF, or .doc.
Equations as Graphics
Equations that cannot be encoded in MathML, should be submitted in TIFF or EPS format as separate files (i.e., one file containing only data for one equation). In such cases, it is critical that the font size is consistent and legible throughout the submissions.
Terminology & units
• Always use internationally accepted symbols for units (SI units).
• Decimal points should be used to indicate decimals and commas to separate thousands
Note: If a manuscript is submitted in a PDF format, the authors are requested to retain the same in the .doc format as well to circumvent any teething issues with the publication process.
