About Introduction to Mechatronics Book

The proposed book “Introduction to Mechatronics” covers a wide spectrum of topics starting from the basic introduction to mechatronics which transcends into the second chapter which deals with the use of mechatronics in manufacturing. Important and industry-relevant topics like Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer-Integrated Manufacturing (CIM), just-in-time production systems, and lean manufacturing are covered in chapter 2. Mechanical drives in mechatronics are introduced in chapter 3 where actuators and sensors, guideways, and assembly techniques are some of the eye-catching topics that are discussed in detail. Electronics in mechatronics is discussed in chapter 4. All the basic but important building blocks of electronics that are used in mechatronics like conductors, insulators, semiconductors, passive electrical components, active elements, and digital electronic components are introduced in chapter 4. Electronics is further discussed in chapter 5. Systems modelling and analysis in chapter 6 and motion control devices in chapter 7 are taken up thoroughly and comprehensively. Other very important topics like sensors and transducers, CNC machines, intelligent systems and their applications, auto-Tronics, bionics, and avionics are dealt with in the following chapters 8, 9, 10, and 11.

Throughout the book, the author emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in mechatronics. The book includes numerous examples and case studies that illustrate the application of mechatronics in various fields, including robotics and automotive systems.

The book is written in a clear and concise style, making it accessible to students and professionals alike. The author uses a practical approach to mechatronics, focusing on real-world applications and problem-solving. Overall, “Introduction to Mechatronics” is an excellent introductory textbook for anyone interested in learning about the field. With its practical approach and emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, the book provides a solid foundation for further study and application of mechatronics.
