About Book This book emphasizes about the basics of the subpopulation of cells named as cancer stem cells (CSC’s) of various types in both genders. Cancer is one of such disease which becomes reluctant towards therapy. This book will be a basic reference for post graduate medical students, medical professionals, Nursing students, continuation of medical education students and researchers who are working in the area of cancer biology, stem cell biology and medical biotechnology. |

At present he is pursuing PhD and his research focus is aimed to understand the mechanisms of prostate cancer and its progression during cancer metastasis by using various approaches that include flow cytometry, Western Blotting, transcriptional profiling in vivo models. He also worked in the area of Body Composition and its variations using different measurement techniques in Indian male population for the development of early prognostic markers at National Institute of Nutrition (ICMR). Presented his research work at various international and National conferences. Mr. Surampudi Sreedhar received his B.Sc and M.Sc (College Topper) degrees in Biochemistry from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur and pursuing his PhD in Biotechnology from GITAM (Deemed to be University), Visakhapatnam. Mr. Surampudi Sreedhar has taught and teaching undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate student courses of Nursing, Medical Lab Technology, Physiotherapy, Certificate and Diploma courses of Medical Sciences.Dr. Satyanarayana Rentala is a Professor in Department of Health Sciences in Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation (AHERF) Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, India. Dr Satyanarayana Rentala completed his PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad and his research focus is aimed to understand the mechanisms of prostate cancer stem cells and their involvement in tumor metastasis. He also worked in the areas of Pharmacokinetics, Nutraceuticals, Food Processing Technology, Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology. Dr. Cheekatla’s research focus is aimed to understand the mechanisms of T cell exhaustion in cancer by using various approaches that include flow cytometry, transcriptional and epigenetic profiling and in vivo models. He is also interested in studying early events leading to the initiation of the pulmonary immune response following respiratory Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection and its associated co-morbidities. This includes establishing how T cells, NK cells and myeloid cells are recruited back to the lung and how these cells mediate their effector functions. Dr. Cheekatla received his B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Biotechnology from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and his PhD in Immunology from Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow for four years in the Department of Pulmonary Immunology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (UTHSCT, Texas, USA). Dr. Cheekatla has taught undergraduate and postgraduate Immunology courses, including courses for majors, nonmajors, and honors students. Mr. Darsi Sivarama Prasad is a Biochemist working at Hyderabad Kidney and Laproscopic center, Hyderabad since 10 years. At present he is pursuing PhD and his research focus is aimed to understand the mechanisms of embryonic stem cells and their rejuvenating molecules in the restoration of kidney cells by using various approaches that include tissue isolation and purification at embryonic stage using in vivo models, transcriptional and translational profiling molecular induction studies for application of induced rejuvenation. He received his B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Biochemistry from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur and pursuing his PhD in Biotechnology from GITAM (Deemed to be University), Visakhapatnam. Mr. Darsi Sivarama Prasad has also been recognized as reviewer in esteemed journals, visiting Biochemist for several diagnostic labs as Biochemist, taught graduate and post graduate students of Life Science and Engineering students at Hyderabad. |
