Dr. Rafia Rahman obtained Masters in Public Health from National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM) in 2010. Previously she completed MBBS (under University of Dhaka), Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Development Planning’ (from National Academy of Development and planning, Ministry of Planning, Bangladesh) and Masters in Health Economics (MHE) from University of Dhaka in 2002, 2008 and 2009 respectively. At the beginning of her career, she worked at different National and international NGO in different positions and at research firms. Named; Palli Shishu Foundation of Bangladesh (USAID), Engender Health Bangladesh Country Office (USAID), Social Marketing Company (SMC), Urban Primary Healthcare Project (Dhaka city corporation, South) and Innovative Research & Consultancy Ltd as Monitoring Officer(medical),Project Coordinator, Consultant, Program Evaluation officer and Research Officer respectively from 2003 to 2013. She joined as a Lecturer at the Institute of Health Economics (IHE), University of Dhaka in March 2013. She was appointed Assistant Professor at IHE in 2016 and worked in the same. Work with national and international NGOs for about nine years, teaching in University about nine years, involve in research work for about ten years and as a voluntary member for about eight organizations inspire to integrate health economics and public health basic facts and use of different tools of economics. To know the basic reciprocation between “health economics and public health” this book will assist interested readers. Before writing the book, Rafia Rahman published about 13articles in different national and international journals. Attend a good number of conferences and workshops as speaker, anchor and co-chair. Beside this she works with Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP) {Tobacco control program} funded by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Public Health Foundation, Bangladesh. These are three major government and non-government organizations she is intimately attached to. She is Phd apprentice.
