Dr. Sufian Abdel-Gadir is Associate Professor in Economics, Sultan Qaboos University. He holds a PhD in Economics from AUTH, Greece and an MSc in Econometrics and Social Statistics, University of Khartoum, Sudan. Dr. Sufian used to teach diverse courses in the area of economics and econometrics such as microeconomics and macroeconomics, econometrics, quantitative methods for business and economics, mathematical economics, intermediate microeconomics, intermediate macroeconomics, international economics. With his experience in quality assurance and accreditation, he was actively participated in the activities of Internal Institutional Quality Audit (IIQA), in SQU and provides many consultancy services in the area of accreditation and quality assurance. Under his leadership, the college of law successfully obtained the international academic accreditation from FIBBA, “Academic accreditation agency based in Germany”, https://www.fibaa.org/en/ for the period 2019-2024. Academically, Dr. Sufian chair many conferences’ scientific committees and got the Best Teacher Award, (2018-2019) and Best Academic Advisor in 2020, in the College of Law, Sultan Qaboos University. He also has been recognized as a distinguished Scholar by the Euro Journals in 2020. For scholarly work, Dr. Sufian intensively participated in reviewing papers at international reputed journals plus books. He actively involved as a member in many research and professional organizations and he is actively working now as research Associate at ERF https://erf.org.eg/erf_affiliation_tax/research-associates/. In addition, he published many papers in various peer-reviewed and Scopus indexed journals and presented many papers in international conferences. His current research focuses on sustainable development, energy economics, development economic, international economics, Private Capital flows, Institutions and Growth, Financial development, Political and Economic freedoms in MENA and Sub-Saharan African Countries.
