About Book
The new era of mechanical engineering is defined by the convergence of traditional engineering principles with advanced digital technologies, innovative materials, and sustainability imperatives. This transformation is driving the development of smarter, more efficient, and environmentally responsible mechanical systems across various industries. Thriving in this era demands adaptability, interdisciplinary expertise, and ethical leadership to ensure technology is harnessed for the benefit of society. This book highlights how the rise of intelligent machines represents one of the most profound technological revolutions in human history. Fueled by advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), robotics, and data analytics, these systems are increasingly capable of performing complex tasks that once required human intelligence. From automating routine operations to enabling scientific breakthroughs and autonomous decision-making, intelligent machines are reshaping industries, economies, and daily life. This shift also raises important questions about ethical responsibility, societal impacts, and future opportunities. The book explores the core technologies that empower intelligent machines, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Big Data, and Cloud Computing. It also examines their applications across diverse sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, finance, education, customer service, and security. A special focus is placed on future outlooks and emerging trends, including Explainable AI, Human-Machine Collaboration, Ethical AI Frameworks, Quantum Computing, Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), and AI for Social Good—supported by real-world case studies. This book presents the current landscape where AI integration across all areas of production enables manufacturers to achieve sustainable growth while complying with strict environmental regulations. Ongoing innovation and cross-disciplinary collaboration will be essential to fully unlock AI’s potential for driving sustainable industrial transformation. |
